The Construction Journey: Part Three Roof Cover
If you’re building a two storey home, the materials for the second storey are delivered and the construction of the second level commences. The first stage is the floor installation, followed by the wall frame and roof truss work. The gutters are installed after the truss work is complete and then the roof cover to the second storey is done.
Once the roof cover is complete to the upper storey, the walls will need to be cladded, texture coat added to the cladding, the eaves painted and windows cleaned.
Once the second storey has been completed, the lower storey roof cover and roof timber will be delivered to site in preparation for the construction of the lower roof frame. The roof carpenter will install all roof steel and timbers, gutters and downpipes. Following this stage, the plumber and electrician will be onsite to install the pipework and cabling, this is referred to as tubing. Once the above has been completed, the roof sheeters will be onsite to install the roof cover!
At 101 Residential you can choose to build your upper floor with:
- Structural timber floor with our Masterwall high performance walling system
- Concrete floor slab with our Masterwall high performance walling system
- Concrete floor slab with double clay brick walls
The choice is yours, speak to our Sales & Design Consultants for more details how these systems can work for you.
If you’re building a single storey home with us, your roof cover will commence once your house has reached plate high. The roof carpenter will install all roof steel and timbers, then gutters and downpipes. Following this stage, we move inside and have the plumber and electrician onsite to install the pipework and cabling. After this, the roof sheeters will be onsite to install the roof cover, and this will complete the roof cover stage!
